Revival Needed

I am confident no one would disagree with the need for revival in America and throughout the Christian church.

With seemingly a constant succumbing to the culture, is revival a reality? The church seems to be relaxing in the midst of a spiritual vacuum, backing off rather than intensifying her efforts in discipleship and evangelism.

In reality, we re living a casual “Christianity.” The church is focused on meeting felt needs, creating a casual atmosphere and comfort for all who attend. God forbid if anyone were to be offended! But wait...is the Gospel not offensive? I believe the prophets, Jesus and New Testament writers offended a few people along the journey.

For there to be revival in the pews, there must be revival in the pulpit. Unless the pulpits of America awaken from their slumber, we will continue on our present course and potentially awaken in the midst of another dark-age era.

Preaching on non-Biblical subjects, such as, the “Keys to Happiness,” “Keys to Success,” and “How to Be a Better You,” leave the listeners empty and hopeless as they receive only a hint of Biblical content. Doctrine, in most churches, has been shelved for hype and experience, evangelism for just living my life before the world, preaching for talks, and Christian service for “it’s all about me.”
